The SMS connection type relies on the SIM number as the unique account identifier. In order to successfully execute an SMS connection job, the SIM number must be a perfect match.

The SIM number is critical, and can be difficult to obtain.

For example: In some cases, SIM cards do NOT have the entire SIM number printed on the front.

Important Facts:

  • ALL SIM Numbers start with 89. If the number on the front of the SIM does not start with 89, it is NOT the entire SIM number.
  • SIM numbers can range in length up to 20 digits.

Recommended Actions:

  • ALWAYS record the entire SIM number with the account documentation
  • Guarantee accuracy by using DLS IV to automatically read the SIM number. Use a PC-Link connection to upload the SIM number while on-site.
