DLS IV gives you a few different options of connecting to a panel.

Global Upload
Selecting the "Global Upload" option will upload the entire panel to your software. After selecting "Global Upload" a window will appear with options to change connection type, DLS Access Code, Panel ID Code, whether to upload the event buffer, and if you would like to auto-detect modules.
Global Download
Selecting the "Global Download" option will download all of the information from the software into the panel.
