Connection Types
In order to connect to a panel, you must first decide which type of connection you wish to use. The following options are available.
PSTN
By selecting this option you will be using the MD-12 modem to dial into the panel. You will need to program the panels phone number, which can be done when you are creating your account, or by right-clicking on the account from the main screen and selecting properties.
IP (T-Link)
By selecting IP, you will be connecting to the account using a network connection through the TL-250 module. You need to provide the IP address of the T-Link you will be connecting to. This can be done when you are creating your account or by going into the account properties.
You will also need to make sure all the appropriate ports for the communication are open.
*If you are unsure how to open the ports, contact your network administrator
SMS (GS2060 or TL260GS)
TL Network (TL260)
Connecting to the Panel
First you must choose the desired communications operation (Global upload, Global Download, Communicate Tags, etc).
Global Upload
If you select to do a global upload, the DLS IV software will connect to the panel via whichever means you have selected and all of the data in the panel will be transferred to the computer. The global upload gets all data from the panel excluding the event buffer.
Once you select the desired operation, a window will appear prompting you to verify the communications information. Here you will see the connection type, the form of communication, the panels access code and the panels ID code.
