Port Forwarding
When you are communicating over an SMS connection type or through a T-Link communicator it may be required to enable port forwarding on any routers or firewalls in order the pass the information along from the panel to the DLS computer.
It is first recommended that the computer you are using for DLS connection have a Static IP address as to avoid any conflicts that could arise when using a Dynamic IP (DHCP).
Once your DLS computer has been set with a Static IP address you would then want to go into your router/firewall’s configuration and forward your port for the connection type that you are using. The most common information required would be the following but can vary depending on the router/firewall being used:
IP Address = The static internal IP address of your DLS computer
Port Number = The Port number the communicator is trying to transmit data on (Default for an SMS/Alarm.com connection is 51004, and 3062 for T-Link communicators)
Protocol = TCP
If you do have any firewalls that reside on the computer you are using for DLS you would also want to make sure that port 51004 or 3062 depending on the communicator is also not being blocked by it. Please refer to the manufacture of the firewall for more information on how to do so.

Port Translation
Port address translation is an option available on some routers/firewalls that will allow multiple devices on a local area network to be mapped to one public IP address. This feature will allow for multiple instances of DLS being run behind a router to be able to connect to panels out in the field. With this you can map a different outside port on your router to communicate back to the correct internal port that the DLS needs to operate on.
The first step with this would be to assign the computers that you are using DLS to each have their own static IP address to avoid any conflicts with a dynamic IP (DHCP). Once you have configured the static IP address you would be able to login to your router/firewall and setup the port translation. In order to configure port translation you will require the information as followed:
IP Address = The static internal IP address of your DLS computer
Public Port Number = This will be the public port number that you want the DLS to communicate over. If you have multiple DLS computers you could set one computer as port 51004, the second as 51005, Etc.
Private Port Number = The Port number the communicator is trying to transmit data on (Default for an SMS/Alarm.com connection is 51004, and 3062 for T-Link communicators)
Protocol = TCP
