Upgrade Information

Version 4.05:

DSC has released V4.05 firmware for the 3G4000, 3G4010 and 3G4010CF universal communicators. The new release addresses an issue with version 4.04 and earlier which do not properly roll-over the sequence number resulting in the absence of an acknowledgement from the receiver.

Version 4.04:

DSC has released V4.04 firmware for the 3G4000, 3G4010 and 3G4010CF universal communicators. All units with a manufactured date of January 26th 2016 or later will ship with the updated version.

PTM Takeover Functionality

Changed the maximum time the 3G40X0 communicator will hold the phone line when PTM is triggered. The 3G40XX will now hold the line for a maximum of 3 minutes.

PTM Call Routing

Detected numbers dialed by the panel which do not exist in the PTM phone numbers will be transmitted to Receiver set 1. Previous versions would not provide a handshake for dialed numbers that did not exist in the PTM list.

Encryption

Corrects an issue where encrypted accounts using V4.03 or earlier could become unable to transmit certain events following a firmware update and/or reboot of the receiver line card(s) they are reporting to.

Version 4.03:

DSC has released V4.03 firmware for the 3G4000, 3G4010 and 3G4010CF universal communicators. The new firmware includes changes to address panel compatibility that was observed with the previous versions. All units with a manufactured date of November 6th 2015 or later will ship with the updated version.

Contact ID Checksum

Addresses Contact ID compatibility with several fire panels as outlined in the Technical Advisory Bulletin titled 3G4010CF Panel Compatibility distributed on October 16th.

PTM Counter

Internal PTM counter has been changed to 3 minutes (same as 3G3070). V4.01 (3G4000) and V4.02 (3G4010) firmware could hold the phone line for an extended period of time if a panel event was not successfully communicated over cellular when the unit was installed in backup mode.
